A passionate cinephile, Arnaud Desplechin graduated in directing and cinematography from one of Europe’s most prestigious film schools, IDHEC (now La Fémis). He is renowned for his compelling, emotionally rich dramas that delve into complex human relationships, identity, and family dynamics. His medium-length film The Life of the Dead (1991) won the Jean Vigo Prize, while his first feature, The Sentinel (1992), was selected for the Cannes Film Festival. Kings and Queens (2004) garnered acclaim from both audiences and critics, with Mathieu Amalric receiving the César Award for Best Actor.
