HAVEL Czechia, 2020, 105 min, color

The film tells the story of Václav Havel, tracing his journey from a young, successful playwright during the Prague Spring of 1968 to a dissident and leader of the Velvet Revolution. After the Soviet occupation, his work was banned, and he was forced to take a job in a brewery. Yet he never gave up – he joined underground human rights initiatives, faced arrests, and stood firm against the regime. Over time, Havel became a symbol of resistance, bringing together artists and dissidents, and eventually rose to become the first democratically elected president of Czechoslovakia.
