The story of former wrestling champion Kakhi whose devotion to his family leads him on a journey from his home in Tbilisi to visit his son Soso in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. There he finds him living in a shabby boarding house populated by a colorful group of fellow Georgian immigrants. Soso is not studying medicine, as Kakhi believed, but is working for a moving company to repay a gambling debt to a local mob boss. Kakhi sets his mind to helping his son, leading to situations as often comic as they are dire.

Levan Koguashvili

Levan Koguashvili was born 1973 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He studied film at the Tbilisi University, at the Russian State Institute of Film (VGIK) and the New York University Graduate Film Program. Between 2002 and 2007 he lived in New York where he made several short films and documentaries. In 2008 he moved back to Georgia to shoot his first feature length fiction film “Street Days”. The film is based on his own script, which won the feature script competition organized by the Georgian National Film Center. Street Days received the “Tiger” award at International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). The premieres of his second film “Blind Dates” (2013) are at the festivals in Toronto and Berlin. The film received more than 20 international prizes including the Grand prize “Sofia - City of Film” at Sofia International Film Festival.
